STRATEGIC EXIT PLANNING FOR MAXIMUM VALUE

STRATEGIC EXIT PLANNING FOR MAXIMUM VALUE

TAILORED STRATEGIES TO MAXIMISE YOUR BUSINESS VALUE

Planning your exit strategy is crucial for ensuring the best possible return with the right partner and with the maximum chance of success. Our experienced team understands the complexities involved in exiting a business across multiple routes and is here to provide bespoke, practical advice to help you navigate this critical typically once in a career event.

Whether you’re considering a sale, merger, or succession planning, we leverage our extensive experience to tailor strategies that maximise your business value. We work closely with you to develop a clear, actionable plan that aligns with your long-term goals and objectives.  We then sit alongside you to advise you on the right time to launch a process whilst constantly reviewing the exit landscape across the globe.

POSITIONING YOUR BUSINESS FOR ACQUIRERS

We utilise our global and UK networks and extensive in-house research function to identify a broad population of potentially interested parties early in an exit planning process. We review our previous engagement with them; their historic M&A strategies; ability to pay as well as the strategic fit with your business. This can involve early outreach and no names conversations to ensure that your business is ideally positioned at the right time.

We work with you on your own commercial and financial strategy to ensure that value is going to be maximised. This is about ensuring both earnings and valuation multiples are maximised but also that any potential drags on value are either dealt with or mitigated in the presentation of your business.

ENHANCING SHAREHOLDER VALUE THROUGH PRACTICAL AND BALANCED SUPPORT

Management teams are increasingly forming part of an auction process, whether in primary or secondary management buy-out situations or where the exit is to an international or UK-based trade acquirer. We recognise that managers face numerous demands on their time and require a trusted, experienced advisor who is focused on their needs.

As your trusted advisor, you can depend on our wealth of experience to act as a sounding board for management teams. We ensure you secure a deal that is right for you, both culturally and economically. Our approach is designed to enhance shareholder value by providing practical and balanced support throughout the process.

DEALING WITH PRIVATE EQUITY BUYERS

Our extensive experience in private equity enables us to offer commercial, realistic advice that delivers the right deal for you. Your dedicated team will be uniquely positioned to address key questions such as:

  • How will I get the opportunity to choose my partner moving forward?
  • How should I assess what I am being offered both financially and commercially?
  • What would life be like with the incoming Private Equity house?
  • What role should I play in an auction process?

By addressing these critical considerations, we help you make informed decisions that support your strategic goals and ensure a smooth transition. Our commitment is to provide the guidance and support you need to navigate the complexities of exiting your business successfully.

Sale of Forward Glass

Forward Glass, employing 100 employees and turning over in excess of £10m, was acquired by Cornwall Group, which operates a range of businesses including Mackenzie Glass and Cornwall Glass. Forward Glass adds to the Group’s glass national footprint and offering. Our role was to act as an advisor to the shareholders of Forward Glass on the sale to Cornwall Group Limited.

For my family and I this was a daunting and unfamiliar process. The team at Springboard were with us at every stage and ensured we got the right outcome with the right partner for our business. Springboard promised us an experienced yet empathetic and committed service – I am pleased to say they lived up to that promise.
