Justin is a partner with over 25 years’ experience. He has an extensive track record of advising institutions, owner managers and corporates on all aspects of corporate finance transactions across most sectors.

Justin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 with PwC and on qualification joined their Insolvency and Restructuring team. Having gained invaluable commercial experience dealing with insolvent and distressed companies, he joined Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance team in 1996, before founding Springboard in 2005.

Simon Ward

Partner

Simon is a partner at Springboard Corporate Finance and has more than 25 years’ experience advising institutions, owner managers, founders and corporates on all types of transaction, in a range of sectors.

Simon’s previous experience in private equity has enabled him to build a profile in working on a range of private equity deals including management advisory services, working with management teams in a number of secondary and tertiary buy-out situations, sale mandates and providing acquisition advice to PE backed businesses.

Simon qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse. He has also spent time with Catalyst Corporate Finance, and had a spell in banking with RBS. Prior to joining Springboard in 2012, Simon spent 10 years as a principal investor working in private equity with Livingbridge and EV Group.

Ben is a partner with over 21 years’ experience. He has extensive experience of advising institutions, owner managers, founders and corporates from both a buy side and a sell side perspective, using experience gained in both debt and equity investing to structure deals creatively.  

Ben qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in 1997 and swiftly moved into Corporate Finance where he specialised in Lead Advisory, spending the next 10 years in both London and Birmingham advising on management buy-outs, corporate disposals and acquisitions in both public and private arenas. He joined Springboard as a partner in January 2015.

Clive Bawden

As Springboard’s Operating Partner, Clive helps the business grow and develop, in particular, focusing on the company’s origination and marketing functions. Clive also works on projects including structured search work for acquisitions and bolt-ons.

Qualifying as a chartered accountant at KPMG Birmingham, Clive worked in industry with Inchcape PLC and Saint-Gobain, before joining Catalyst Corporate Finance (now Alantra) in 2005 as Business Development Director.

Alongside his role at Springboard, Clive is COO of a venture-backed musical instrument manufacturer, has his own start-up technology-business based at Innovation Campus, Birmingham as well as a number of Consulting, NED, and Trustee roles.
