Muddy Boots Software has secured a multi-million pound investment from US headquartered Carrier Corporation to support its continued expansion in the UK and international markets.
About the deal
Muddy Boots Software Limited, based in Ross-on-Wye has provides innovative software for the food supply chain which gives users transparency from grower to retailer. Founded in 1996, the company now employs a team of over 100, supporting in excess of 2,000 customers across 40 countries.
Carrier Corporation is a global leader in cold chain technologies with products and services designed to help monitor and manage the cold chain of the world’s most temperature-sensitive, perishable products: food, pharmaceuticals, biologics and industrial chemicals.
Muddy Boots was advised on the transaction by Justin Sparks and Robert Johnson. Justin commented “We have been working with the shareholders and Directors of Muddy Boots for a number of years to help with their strategic options and we are pleased to have been able to deliver this transaction for them. The founding shareholders invested to develop market leading solutions for the food supply chain and Muddy Boots was seeking a partner that not only provided access to finance but also could provide assistance with their plans for international expansion. Carrier Corporation delivers on all these requirements and we look forward to the continued success of Muddy Boots”.
How we made a difference
- Helped prepare the business plan highlighting the compelling investment case together with the financial projections;
- Identified strategic investors who could add value by supporting access to key global markets;
- Negotiated and structured the funding package; and
- Project managed the deal through to completion.
Andy Reeves - Finance Director, Muddy Boots
The team at Springboard provided us with outstanding support throughout the process of raising new investment. Whilst they are of course experts in helping businesses raise finance, from updating business plans through to negotiating the deal, it is the way they engaged with us that made them stand out. They showed great empathy with management and shareholders, yet were also tough enough on us all to drive us through the process. Their communication and negotiation style throughout the process was outstanding, they were always there for us and it really felt like having an increased management bandwidth through the fundraising process.
